As we know that India is the land of Festivals and more than 20 festivals are celebrated every

India still has many of them to celebrate. But do you know that these festivals have some
significance behind them? Yes, every festival is celebrated with some reason whether it is

Among all these festivals, we have one more upcoming festival called "Rakshabandhan".
Raksha Bandhan is the festival when a sister gets a chance to show his love and affection
towards his brother. Raksha Bandhan holds an important significance between the relation of
every Brother and sister. On this day every sister ties Rakhi (a bracelet like a thread with
some beautiful stones embedded in it) on their Brother’s wrist with Tilak and some sweets.
And in return, Brother give some present to his sister as well. In this way, they both show
their gratitude towards each other.
Why is Rakshabandhan Celebrated?
It is believed that this Rakhi is tied as the symbol of protecting brother from all the evil
influences and Bad luck. That’s why this Festival Holds that much importance.
Well not only to protect the brother from the evils, but Raksha Bandhan is also considered as
the symbol of love between brother and sister. It shows the love and affection between every
brother and sister. Moreover, Raksha Bandhan gives an opportunity to every brother who is
working as a soldier in the army and haven’t visited his house for the past 6-12 months. But
this Festival provides an opportunity to meet their family and their sister.
Every citizen should celebrate Rakshabandhan. And not only the Rakshabandhan but
everyone should also celebrate the other festivals as well. It gives joy, happiness and units every family together.
